¹ Services pause at 500 h/mo and resume on the 1st. Two services ≈ 10 days continuous; one service ≈ 20 days.
³ Shared instance = your own isolated database inside a shared CNPG cluster. Your data is fully isolated; you share the node, not the database.
⁵ Cold start = the container resumes from zero; the first request after sleep takes a few seconds. Upgrade to Hobby for always-on.

What is a project?
A project = one infrastructure namespace. Every project includes exactly one Postgres instance, one Redis, and one S3 bucket. All compute slots share those resources.
Single-app repo
One repo, one service, one slot.
my-app/ → 1 slot
└─ Postgres · Redis · S3 Monorepo
One repo, multiple services. Each service is its own slot — all share the same database.
my-app/
apps/api/ → slot 1
apps/web/ → slot 2
apps/worker/ → slot 3
└─ Postgres · Redis · S3 Multi-repo, one product
Separate repos but one product. Import both as slots inside the same project.
my-api/ → slot 1
my-frontend/ → slot 2
└─ Postgres · Redis · S3 When do you need a second project?
| Situation | Slot | Project |
|---|---|---|
| New service or worker for the same app | — | |
| Frontend for the same backend | — | |
| Separate repo, shared database | — | |
| Staging env with isolated data | — | |
| Client app needing its own database | — | |

Frequently asked questions
What counts as a "slot"?
A slot is one running service — a container with its own RAM, CPU, routing, and SSL. A monorepo with API + frontend + worker uses 3 slots. Each slot deploys and scales independently.
What's the difference between shared and dedicated Postgres?
Shared means your database runs inside a shared CloudNativePG cluster — your data is fully isolated, but you share the underlying node. Dedicated (Pro+) gives you your own CNPG instance with reserved memory and I/O.
What does "shared Redis" mean on Free and Hobby?
Shared Redis means your keyspace runs inside a multi-tenant Redis instance — your data is fully isolated (no other tenant can read or write your keys), but you share the underlying node's memory. Free plans include 64 MB and Hobby includes 128 MB from the shared pool. Pro and Team plans include a dedicated Redis instance (128 MB and 512 MB respectively), giving you reserved memory and more predictable latency under load. You can double the base memory on Pro and Team via the Redis upgrade add-on.
Does the Free plan pause?
Yes. Free services sleep after 30 minutes of idle and wake on the next request (cold start of a few seconds). They also pause when the 500 compute-hour monthly limit is reached (~10 days with 2 services). Upgrade to Hobby for always-on.
What is an instant DB clone per PR preview?
Each PR preview environment gets a full, isolated copy of your database using CloudNativePG volume snapshots — no data sharing with production. It's torn down automatically when the PR closes.
Can I mix slot sizes within my plan budget?
Yes. Your compute budget is a RAM pool you allocate freely. A 5 GB Pro budget can run as 5×M, or 2×L + 1×M, or 2×L + 1×S + 2×XS. You can also add extra slots beyond your budget at per-slot add-on rates.
When should I add a project vs. add a slot?
Add a slot when you need another service (API, worker, frontend) that can share your existing database. Add a project when you need a separate database — for a staging environment with isolated data, or a completely separate product.
How does annual billing work?
Annual plans are billed upfront for 12 months and save 20% vs. monthly. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the current billing period with no penalty.
Is there a free trial?
Hobby includes a 7-day free trial; Pro and Team include a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to start — just connect GitHub.
What MCP tools work with FluxNow?
FluxNow ships a native MCP server. Any MCP-compatible tool works — Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Lovable, and others. You can deploy, manage environments, and run migrations without leaving your editor.
Can I deploy from multiple repos into one project?
Yes. Import any repo as a slot inside a project. A single project can contain slots from different repos — all sharing the same Postgres, Redis, and S3 bucket.
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
You can add slots beyond your compute budget at per-slot add-on rates. Database and S3 overages are billed per 10 GB and 20 GB blocks respectively. We'll notify you before any unexpected charges.
